Ryan is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in working with adults and young people. He has worked in private practice for a number of years, and his experience also spans both the adult and youth public mental health sectors.

​Ryan is passionate about mental health. He has a wealth of experience in assisting people with depression, anxiety and related difficulties including social anxiety, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorders. He has particular expertise in men’s mental health, and in helping people who are struggling with body image problems, especially body dysmorphic disorder.

Ryan also provides psychotherapy and counselling for executives and high net-worth individuals, drawing on his many years of experience working in the corporate world in a diverse range of industries including banking and finance, information technology, manufacturing, marketing and fast-moving consumer goods.

Ryan works with his clients in a warm and empathic way, using evidence-based interventions. His approach draws on a range of psychotherapeutic frameworks including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and existential psychotherapy, theory and philosophy.

Ryan is also a research fellow at Swinburne University, conducting research in the areas of body dysmorphic disorder, psychosis and substance use.
